Here are some pictures from our most recent vacation to Disneyworld. We had a wonderful time staying at the lovely Coronado Springs resort with our great friends, The Russo family. My friend Carol from Florida also came by and shared a lovely day at Magic Kingdom with us! It was an awesome vacation and the kids had a blast. But this mama needs a vacation from her vacation. Disneyworld is exhausting!!! I am looking forward to my much needed adult only vacation in a few weeks!!!

Happy Anniversary to my handsome hubby. It has been an eventful ride but I wouldn't have it any other way. Through the good and the bad we've vowed to stick it out together and do our best as husband and wife. I have cherished all the wonderful times we have knowing the difficult beginning we had (maybe getting married at 20 wasn't the best idea) But we were young and very in love and we knew that as long as we had each other we would make everything else work. You have been an amazing husband for the past 11 years and a devoted father. You are more than I ever dreamed was possible! The kids and I adore you and look forward to growing old together. I love you more today than yesterday.

Today we welcomed a new baby to the group. Little Andrew was born a little after 1pm weighing in at 7 pounds and 19 3/4 inches. Congrats to Scott and Andie on their miracle baby boy!!!!

First day of school has come and gone. Xander started first grade and Delaney headed to PK-3. All I know is that my babies are growing up way too fast. Xander is an easy child, always has been. He took to school easily and has never given me a problem. Sure, maybe one or two crying days just because but nothing to write about. Delaney is the complete opposite. Day one was a huge success, she even asked to go back. Next day the smiles were tears and absolute panic. It's been that way for two days now. Of course the teacher reassures me the moment I leave she is fine and absolutely enjoys her day. Who wouldn't? Finger painting, drawing, playing with friends, lunch, naptime, dress up, computer class and more. I really hope the morning routine starts to get easier. It breaks my heart to see her unhappy even if its just for a moment. I questioned my decision to send her at the age of 3 but I know that regardless of her age Delaney will always be my handful. And I certainly wouldn't have it any other way.

My dearest Delaney,
It's hard to even begin to describe my feelings at this very moment. I am so overjoyed by the celebration of your third birthday but it also saddens me that you are growing up so fast. I can close my eyes and picture you as a tiny little newborn sleeping in my arms swaddled so tight. It's hard to imagine that 3 years has passed us by so quickly. You have filled our lives with so much joy and laughter that it's almost impossible to imagine life before you. I truly believe that your daddy and I really began to live when you and your brother entered our lives. We often talk about adding a new little bundle of joy to our family but always come back to the happiness of our little family of four. I am so proud of you and the little princess you are. You are beautiful beyond words, both inside and out. You are full of spirit, spunkiness and have an attitude to match mine. Not to mention my stubbornness, temper and loud mouth ;) With that said, you are absolutely amazing. You are gorgeous, seriously. And I'm not saying that just because I am your mother. You are extremely smart and have an exceptional vocabulary and knowledge beyond your years. In my eyes, you are perfect. The little girl I always dreamed I wanted, and so much more. Here are a few pictures from our little trip to Austin, Texas. We spent the week enjoying our time with Alex's parents, grandmother and aunt. The kids had a blast. I enjoyed the trip very much, except the very long car drive with two kids whom much prefer to travel by plane. And one grumpy husband when it was his turn to drive the rented minivan. I think he felt his cool daddy notch slipped just a bit while driving that thing. Overall, it was a great way to start the summer now that Xander is out of school!

It's hard to believe almost 7 years ago I held you in my arms for the very 1st time. Time has flown by so quickly and I would do anything to make it stop, at least temporarily. In my previous post I stated we went to a Gala and afterward we headed out to celebrate LJ's 31st birthday. With that being said I didn't arrive home till almost 4am. Not a huge deal except for one little minor detail. I had to be up for 7 for our photo safari downtown. So with a hangover off to the quarter we went. We a had blast with Dan Milham as our instructor. He was actually pretty funny and had lots to say. After the 4 hour photo trip we headed to lunch and then home. It was a great experience!!

Here are a few pictures after the gala we attended at Xander's school. We didn't win a whole lot but I did manage to scoop up 4 tickets to the whole week of the Zurich Classic for my brother in law for his birthday and we had the winning bid for Father Frank to come spend the afternoon with us and BBQ. Since the $500 we bid on for Father Frank's priceless experience was being donated to the National Brain Tumor Society in Jonathan's name I thought I was only right to give the prize to Jennifer and Jason. My only request was that we had to be invited to this wonderful afternoon :)The gala was a blast and we looking forward to many, many more years to come.

Here are a few pictures from our girls day brunch at Commander's Palace. I started with the famous Bloody Mary, Commander's Salad, Tournedos of Black Angus Beef - Creole spiced tournedos of beef over smoked onions, smashed new potatoes, roasted mushrooms, house made bacon and spicy Sazerac steak sauce and finished it all of with a slice of Pecan Pie and coffee. It was DIVINE!!!! We had a blast and we all left feeling stuffed to the brim. Now that's a great way to spend a Sunday :)

Friday started off with an awesome 2 hour workout with Andrea at her new, fancy gym. I was anxious to try it out because I recently quit the YMCA and started running on my own. I used to hate running, I wanted nothing to do with it. But seeing it was the fastest way to shed the pounds I challenged myself. Yes, I have a few more pounds to go. I have lost a total of 26 pounds with 4 more to go to achieve my goal weight. I'm excited to finally be able to wear a four again, it feels awesome! I haven't been a size four since before I was pregnant with Xander. He will be 7 in October so we all know it's been a long, long road. The next stop on this journey: Crescent City Classic!

On Tuesday the Big Easy Strikers had their last soccer game for the season. The black team, our team, was by far the best. All the kids did a fantastic job and have improved tremendously since game one. It was so great to see the kids really come together as a team and play as one. Trophies were given to all the players and afterwards we headed to Reginelli's for a team pizza party! Congrats to Xander, Jace, Brock, Andrew, Chase and Tyler. You guys rock!!!! A fabulous brunch with the girls at restaurant Luke was just what I needed. We were overjoyed to learn that one of us is expecting. Last night we all got together in celebration of our friend Chris's 30th birthday. After a few rounds of drink we headed to see a friend of ours, Jackie, perform in her debut show the Crescent City Cupcakes. The show was great and all the girls did awesome. Talk about confidence! You would never catch me performing at a burlesque, even before kids!! We all had such a wonderful time and it was great being with everyone. I feel so fortunate to be surrounded by the most awesome group of friends. Enjoy the pics!!

We decided to head to Slidell today and catch up with Mandy. We have all been so busy lately with kids, babies and the holidays that our "girl time" kinda came to a halt. Now that the holidays are over I'm looking forward to hanging out with the girls on a regular basis again. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon just relaxing and talking. We had a nice lasagna lunch courtesy of Mandy, it was perfect!

I decided since I was there to try and test my skills on the kids. Well I found out very quickly that I have no skills, my new camera is very intense, and I should stick to shooting in automatic for now. I am looking forward to my all day photography class this Saturday. I am hoping they can teach me a few thing about the fancy features I can't even begin to comprehend on this 7D.

This Christmas is certainly one we will always remember. Xander is at that age that he really enjoys the holidays and can understand the meaning behind everything. We talked about our many traditions and the different religions and cultures within our family. Delaney is two but that little one is smart as a whip. You can't get anything past her and she questions everything. She was really excited about the arrival of Santa, so my FIL made a quick appearance dressed as jolly St. Nick. Thankfully the kids didn't suspect anything.

The menu was traditional but tasty as always. Prime rib, potatoes, and asparagus!! YUMMY! I decided to make my own pies this year. I must say for my first attempt they were all pretty good. Next year watch out Betty Crocker! After dinner we all jumped into our matching pajamas and got ready for the festivities. Alex bought the kids (really himself) a Playstation 3 Move. We decided to test out our singing, drumming and guitar skills while the kids were sleeping. Let's just say we should ALL keep our day jobs! There was no lacking in the present department this year. Alex got his beloved, fancy roasting pan. My brother in law got a fantastic new outdoor grill. My sister in law and I both got a new camera. I was such a good girl my hubby bought me 2. I was in desperate need of a little pocket camera. (kinda thought I may get that one) But I was floored when I got the Canon 7D. I gave subtle little hints here and there but never thought I would be getting it. But the great hubby he is, he wouldn't settle for getting me anything less. The kids got every Toy Story 3 toy imaginable. Dress up clothes, Saints gear, a bike, desks, a camera, tutus, a dollhouse, video games, etc. The list goes on and on.They really racked up this year. The house looked like a toy store. It was craziness!
Christmas Eve 2010 was something special, something wonderful. It was filled with the joy of family and the laughter of friends. Thanks to the newcomers this year, Karrie and Dustin and Ms. Toby. We loved having you in our home and hope you will join us in the many years to follow!

Xander started soccer on Tuesday at a local indoor arena. He loved it! Several of his classmates are on his team and they couldn't be happier. On his first practice he managed to score one goal and block a point from the other team. I look forward to many more practices and cheering from the sidelines. I am a sports fanatic. So any chance I get to play sports or to be involved in them is awesome. Let's hope Xander feels the same way.......forever!

Practically every time Alex is in town he takes Xander to Hooters. They love that place, I just will never understand! It has a been a thing for them to do together since Xander was very little. They frequent there so often Xander's picture has a spot on the wall. Xander used to refer to the waitresses as "Ms. Boobies" but I think he's grown out of that. At least I think? Xander had a field trip today at the Imax and Aquarium. As one of the chaperone's I rode the bus along with the teachers and students. Xander was smiling ear to ear the entire bus ride. He just couldn't believe that mommy was on the bus with him. The Deep Sea presentation at the Imax was awesome, a must see. Although we have been to the aquarium more times than I can count this time was really special. I was able to see Xander interact with all of his friends and fellow classmates. On the bus ride back back I just couldn't stop staring at him thinking when did he become such a little man. The baby I once held in my arms can hardly stand to sit on my lap for more than 5 seconds. a PRD visit

I had the pleasure of babysitting the sweetest little guy today. Andrea was in desperate need of a "new do" and Roman was off with his grandparents for "Roman Day." I decided it would be the perfect opportunity to grab a few shots of Preston. The lighting inside wasn't good at all but I managed to get a few decent pictures. Our day was wonderful. Preston ate, slept, we took pictures, he slept more then gave me 2 poo-poo diapers. Now that's one hell of a day :)

Last night we hopped over to Xander's school to do a little Trunk or Treating. The kids had a blast! Xander went as Darth Vader and Delaney was happy to wear my first homemade costume ever. Those spider legs were a bit tricky and one side ended up popping by the end of the night. Oh well, next year I'll do much better. I promise. Hopefully my sewing skills will have improved 10 fold in a years time. At least that's the plan. Tonight we are heading to a special Halloween party at my friend Jen's house and I think Delaney convinced me to let her go as a princess. That's going to be my excuse. Who needs to know this momma doesn't feel like redoing a spider costume last minute. I'll have to take some better pictures later on. My battery was dead as I went to snap some pictures last night. I guess we will have to settle for the out of focus Iphone pics.

Congrats to the newly married Damian and Niomi Davenport. It was a beautiful day wedding under the oak trees in Audubon Park. They are a great couple and we were honored to be a part of their special day!

The other night we decided to carve pumpkins while daddy did some grilling. Xander did an excellent job drawing out his pumpkin face. All I did was carve it out. And we can all guess which one is Laney's!!

On Thursday Xander was overjoyed to bring home Chum the class pet. The minute Xander hopped in the truck all he could talk about was the many things he wanted to do with Chum on his overnight visit. We put up a tent in the playroom, baked cookies for sweet day at school, cooked dinner together, watched a movie, and even embroidered Chum a scarf to wear for the Saints game on Sunday. He was sad that it was only an overnight visit but were happy to have him as our guest!

Watching a new life come into this world is truly remarkable. Today I had a privilege of being there for the arrival of Preston Rene. The day was filled with anticipation, love, tears and lots of emotions. Andrea was amazing. When it came time for the delivery Preston was a bit stubborn, he really wanted a grand entrance. The first attempt wasn't successful so we waited and finally he was ready to see the world. When he was held up by the doctor I was flooded with emotions. He was beautiful...... just perfect. Thank you Andrea and Jude for letting me there for this miracle. It's a day I will never forget and I was honored to be a part of it.

Saints Preseason

WHO DAT!!!!! Here are a few pictures from the Saints preseason game. We are looking forward to a phenomenal season. We have been blessed to have season tickets for many, many years now. The feeling of being in the Dome is just surreal. Now that Delaney is a bit older we are definitely going to be taking both kids to many of the games this season. We all want to be in that number this year!
